Effects of exercise program among adult women in a community

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of exercise program for weight control. The study subjects were adult women living in Gwangju metropolitan city. After 10 weeks in the program, the effects of weight control was accessed. The results were as follows : Frist, The weight, BMI, and %body fat were significantly reduced(61.7kg¡æ60.01kg, 25.75¡æ24.91, 37.65%¡æ35.28%, respectively). The difference for the subjects with high body weight, high %body fat, and high BMI was greater than the subjects with low body weight, low %body fat, and low BMI. Second, In physical function, distance in anteflexion and retroflexion and back muscle strength were significantly increased(from 29.98cm to 34.11cm, from 48.18cm to 50.36cm, from 97.06kg to 102.76kg, respectively). In conclusion, after 10 weeks exercise program of adult women, the weight, BMI, %body fat were significantly decreased and the physical function was significantly increased. These finding indicate that the exercise program for weight control was effective.
